Selin Bonfil’s work explores the boundaries between fiction and documentary.  Growing up in Istanbul, Turkey she has gained fluency through cultures and aims to embody that fluidity in her style.

As a visual storyteller, she seeks to document the public intimacy of the daily lives within different groups and communities, as well as explore stories that challenge taboos and gender norms.

After obtaining a BFA at the NYU Tisch Film & TV program she has embarked on a journey of directing, writing and shooting fiction and non-fiction as well as collaborating with engaging artists across various mediums.
